Metro FM Music Awards 2016 – The Highlights

It’s always good to see the evolution of home-grown products and this year’s Metro FM Music Awards, held at the ICC in Durban, were all about evolution.

2016 saw the addition of one new category to celebrate the work of artists from the rest of the continent as well as the introduction of a cash prize for each of this year’s winners.

Winners were allocated R100,000 each while the song of the year winner could expect R130,000 amounting to about R2 Miliion

Metro FM Music Awards 2016 hosted by Mo Flava and Bonang Matheba

The Metro FM Music Awards weekend is upon us and our timelines have been flooded with FOMO-inducing pre-MMA’s imagery and news all week.

Joburg descends upon Durban once again this weekend as the 15th Annual MMA’s are set to take place tomorrow night at the ICC Centre.

This year’s shindig will be hosted by Metro FM DJ’s Mo Flava and Bonang Matheba.

Generations: The Legacy – Pissing Parents Off One Story Line at a Time

By my observation, it all began when the main character – Karabo Moroka – suggested a polyandrous marriage. Social media commentary went crazy and my own mother expressed her unfortunate disappointment at the daring direction Mfundi Vundla and the Generations: The Legacy script writers are taking the show.

Oh Gawd It’s Major League Gardens – back with a twist

With summer coming to an end, early bird tickets for the 6th Major League Gardens sold out last week ,before even going to press, according to the event organizers.

The upcoming event for the quarterly social festival,  taking place at the Nasrec Expo Park on the 19th of March, promises to out-do previous events with a star-studded line-up and other surprises.
