Sounds like some kind of superhero group right? Considering how stunning the entire team is, being sexy might just be a super power with these 5.
Who are they? Well, you might remember the announcement I posted about a few months ago when DJ Speedsta was named as the VUZU AMP face but the urban youth channel has just revealed three more faces that will join the team.
Speedsta and Lalla Hirayama will be joined by Nomuzi “Moozlie “Mabena, Mthoko “Dash” Mkhathini from the hip hop trio, Dreamteam, and rapper Shane Eagle.
This means that Denise Zimba and Shelton Forbes will be leaving V-Entertainment to “pursue other interests” according to Vuzu but they assure us that “they remain firmly part of the VUZU AMP family.”
Commenting on the decision to include more faces to the brand, Head of Reality and Entertainment at M-Net Local Entertainment Channels, Sphumelele Sibeko says “VUZU AMP is a young, innovative brand that is synonymous with all things fresh. We understand that we need to keep reinventing the brand through its people.”
The rest of us were still wondering what will happen to Moozlie now that she has left MTV Base and CashTime Life, well, this is it! “I feel like I have been in the entertainment industry for a long time, I have done so many things and cemented myself, so my diversity is what I’ll offer. I will also provide a trendy fashion element,” said Moozlie in a statement.
Dubbed as the ‘ladies’ man’ of his hip-hop group Dreamteam, Dash has never shied away from the spotlight. Seeing as he hails from Durban, he promises to also show that ‘Durban flavour’. Dash also said “the brand is so young and fresh, it is connected with the culture and youth of South Africa, so being part of it is such a great opportunity. I feel that I will be bringing myself to the table, viewers will just have to wait and see because I am so unpredictable, just like I am with my music.”
Rounding out the team is the third and final addition, Shane Eagle, who was one of the viewers’ favourites when he made it to the top four of The Hustle. His post-Hustle credits include producing a hit song called “Way Up”, which features the winner of the first season, BigStar Johnson. Besides being a favourite with hip hop heads, Shane Eagle has also proved a natural on the screen. It must be those pretty boy looks that make him feel so comfortable in front of the camera.
