Multiple award winning, BET Award nominee, Toya Delazy, has just officially announced her departure from Sony Music Africa.
Fans need not worry, this is not the end of her music career but rather,
the first page in a new chapter for the singer.
She will be focusing more on her own label, Delazy Entertainment, which has officially signed all-female rap crew Klutch Kollective which she is also a part of.
Delazy also plans to release new music as an independent artist under Delazy Entertainment very soon.
“Today marks a significant day for me. I only realised when I signed the Klutch Kollective contracts today that 19 April 2011 was the day I signed to Sony Music Africa. I take this coincidence as the beginning of a great new chapter and I look forward to sharing more music with South Africa and the rest of the world” said Delazy in a statement.
Klutch Kollective’s debut single, Back To The Roots, has been play listed on radio stations across the country and is on high rotation on stations such as East Coast Radio. The track recently made the Breaking and Entering Chart on YFM, just in time for the official music video which will debut this Thursday.
