Lumiere, a luxury dinner-theatre experience, will be presented in South Africa for the first time in September, immersing diners into the exuberance and enlightenment that signified the Golden Age of Paris, complete with fine Courvoisier cognac.
To be hosted by Mi Casa’s musical frontman and acclaimed chef, J’Something, Lumiere will transport diners to a time of hope, light and beauty of Paris’s Belle Epoque period at only two establishments – Signature Restaurant and Nineteen Restaurant in Johannesburg.
Both restaurants were selected because they meet the Lumiere – Enlightened series’ requirements; being able to create a night of luxury, sensibility, decadence and exceptional taste.
J’Something together with renowned executive chefs, Roberto De Carvalho and Bryce Grantham will put together six course tasting menus with accompanying scents, musical arrangements and signature Courvoisier tasting cocktail and pairings – designed to accentuate the aroma of each blend – presenting diners with the opportunity to celebrate the age that perfected it.
“Everything that the world knows and loves about Paris – the architecture, the music, the art, the romance and the Eiffel Tower itself – are all from this Golden Age. I can’t wait to partner with such an iconic brand as Courvoisier in order to bring the enlightenment to life,” said J’Something in a statement.
Courvoisier will be awarding both venues with “The Enlightened” plaques to signify their participation in the extraordinary event.
The first Lumiere – Enlightened dinner will be held on the 6th September at Signature Restaurant in Morningside, Johannesburg and the second will be held on the 22nd September at Nineteen Restaurant in Steyn City, Johannesburg.
You can attend the first Lumiere – Enlightened dinner by buying yourself tickets from Webtickets at R1400 per person all inclusive.
