A Facelift for Fairlawns

One of the things I enjoy most about entertainment journalism is the fact that it exposes me to SO many places, especially around the city. And just when I think I have discovered one gem, I am introduced to yet another.

The Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa is one such gem, nestled in the quiet suburb of Morningside.

After 19 years in business, the 5-star hotel is currently undergoing a benign face lift aimed at modernising the Fairlawns’ exterior without interfering with the day-to-day running of the hotel.

In addition to completely redesigning the interior of their existing suites, Fairlawns is adding a few new villas opposite their gorgeous courtyard to cater to their growing client base.

The hotel offers laundry, valet service, room safes, mini bars, satellite TV, free WiFi, free gym access, transfers to and from the airport as well as in and around the Sandton area for all their guests.

They are also revamping what I can only single out as one of my favourite features of the hotel – their Balinese-styled spa. Tranquil, secluded and well stocked, a day at the Fairlawns’ spa is the perfect thing to treat yourself or any of your loved ones to. The spa is even equipped to handle groups of up to ten people for those special occasions such as birthdays or bridal showers.

Not everything at the hotel is undergoing a transformation however. Their gourmet restaurant, conference and events facilities remain unchanged. With room for groups of 12 – 60 people, Fairlawns is capable of handling breakfast conferences, high-teas and banquet dinners.

So, if you’re ever in the market for a place to stay while in the area, an afternoon high-tea, a conference room for your business breakfast or a Balinese break, head over to the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa and let them know that Media Girl sent you.
