The first of September pretty much marked the beginning of the festive season and any self-respecting South African knows the main elements of i’Big days.
It’s rare to find all these elements in one place but when you do, you know you are in for the ultimate turn up – which is exactly what Major League Gardens is.
Major League is set to shut down the city for the weekend as they take over Nasrec Expo Park on the 17th of September and they promise that “a few unexpected surprises are to be expected.” Uhm… 🤐
Described as “a shimmering outdoor funfair event with the freshest outdoor activities hosting among other things, a live stage featuring the best acts South Africa can offer,” the festival by young people for young people will be MC’d by DSTV Explora ambassador and Idols judge, Somizi alongside Cassper Nyovest’s… Uhm…, Carpo.
*Sidenote: what does Carpo do (this is a genuine question)?
I digress, back to the issue at hand: If haven’t gotten you tickets yet, here are three reasons for you not to miss Major League Gardens on it’s third anniversary according to the Major League DJz.
1. Beside it being one of the hottest parities in town, you will see hottest African women at the event.
No lies detected. Major League may have publically declared their love for Zulu girls only but they know just how good they’ve got it here in SA.
2. Supporting local. Major League features the biggest local line up.
From artists like Riky Rick, Kwesta, Nasty C,Emtee and A-Reece ,Shekhinah, Da Les, Okmalumkoolkat, Babes Wodumo, K.O, Stilo Magolide, Mzekezeke ( Throwback Hour), Maraza,Nadia Nakai, Gemini Major, Du Boiz, Tshego, uSanele and Priddy Ugly to DJ’s like Major League Djz, Black Motion, Shimza, DJ Dimplez, Kent, Tira, Sphetacula and Dj Naves, DJ Bongz, Speedsta, Sliqe, PH, Maphorisa, Hudson, Mr x, 2Kza, Snow Deep and more, you’d have to search high and low to find a fuller line up anywhere else.
In addition to kicking it with your mates, you get to choose from an array of amusement park activities such as:
- Arcade Games Centre
- Table Tennis
- Rodeo Bull
- Carnival Swings
- Huge TV Screens with Ninendo WII
- Popcorn & Candy Floss Stand
- Graffiti Wall
Festival goers can bring their own cooler boxes (before 5pm), or head over to Major League beer gardens.
“Don’t forget your camp chairs and picnic blankets, and come share in the greatness of the Major League Gardens,” added Major League in a statement.
